Stock sizes in bar range from 1/8" to 12" in stock. Larger sizes, and special sizes can be produced to your needs. Product can be centerless ground up through 4" diameter.
High Performance Alloys stocks mainly round bar products. Our extensive inventory ranges in sizes up to 12 Inch diameter. Normal stock lengths are 12 ft random in length. For example, 12 ft random would be 10 to 12 or 11 to 13 ft. This is industry standard practice. Some bar products are carried in longer mill lengths of 10 to 18 ft randoms. Our inventory serves a dual purpose: we can sell as a distributor product or manufacture custom requirements in bar.
We are capable of manufacturing bar lengths up to 30 ft. Depending on the material required, there may be several tempers or manufacturing methods used. Sometimes the material specification will determine the required manufacturing method by requiring a cold drawn, hot rolled or hot forged condition. The following details some of the types of manufacture we have available for our customers.
Widths and lengths can vary from alloy to alloy, depending on their thickness and need for particular use. We cut items to size using shear, abrasive, plasma and waterjet.
HPA has the inventory to provide same day shipments for small and medium shipments. Larger quantities can be supplied through our network of mills. Some of our mills may allow us to offer a better delivery to our customers by adding the requirements to our own stock material purchases.
Spools and cut lengths available for quick shipment. Sizes range from 0.001" to 0.125" diameters. Close tolerance or product for welding.
Special / Custom
HPA is also a secondary producer of the alloys that we normally stock, as well as a number of other materials. This is performed using forging, rolling and our network of mills.
Many of our materials are being forged in Tipton.
Bars, flats, and upsets are made to order.
We are now offering forgings made on our forge press. Forging allows for a wide array of mechanical properties. From annealed, precipitation hardened condition, to cold reduced, and the hot worked-as worked conditions. While the possibilities are endless, it depends on the material, and what we are starting with.
We are specializing in the production of bar stock, and other loose tolerance items. We do not perform closed die, or hammer type forgings. Quantities usually less than 2000 Lbs. allow us to produce a single bar or piece of the material and size that our customers require.
Rounds, rectangle bar, pancakes or upsets are produced with this hydraulic press. Basic dimensions controlling customer product are limited by die size, and handling capabilities. The widest possible on the press is 24 inches. Stroke length is 36 inches. Several material handling devices carry product from 20 lbs to 3000 lbs.
